Mexico Security & Transportation Update | February 24th, 2026
We are providing an updated advisory regarding the current security situation in Mexico and its impact on freight movement.
At this time, there is no nationwide shutdown of transportation in Mexico. Commercial trade continues to move, and US–Mexico border crossings and major ports remain operational.
Recent security events have been localized and fluid, primarily affecting certain areas in western and central Mexico. In some regions, there have been temporary road blockages and isolated disruptions. These have not resulted in a system-wide stoppage of trade; however, they may cause corridor-specific delays depending on location.
What this means for your operations:
- Shipments are moving.
- Border crossings and ports remain open.
- Some lanes may experience localized delays.
- There is no blanket suspension of Mexico–US trade activity.
We are monitoring official advisories in real time and coordinating closely with our carrier partners. Where safety cannot be verified, we will hold or reroute freight as appropriate.
If you have a specific origin and destination you would like reviewed, we can provide a lane-specific update and risk assessment.
