Today, the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) officially announced that the Section 301 List 3 Tariffs will be increasing from 10% to 25%, effective May 10, 2019.
A corresponding Customs CSMS message #19-00236, was also sent out today. This message lists out the official instructions to the Trade and Customs Brokers on applying the additional 25% rate to the Section 301 List 3 goods with the Country of Origin of China.
“For subject goods entered for consumption, or withdrawn from warehouse for consumption, on or after 12:01 a.m. eastern standard time on May 10, 2019, and exported to the United States before May 10, 2019, the 10 percent duty rate will still apply. CBP is working with USTR on additional guidance on the entry filing requirements for these imports.”
