UPDATE: Electronic ACH Refunds Final Rule Effective February 6th, 2026 – New FAQs Now Available
The below was taken in part from CSMS# 67513690 and is an update to our January 26th Customer Advisory:
Beginning February 6th, 2026, US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) will issue all refunds electronically via Automated Clearing House (ACH) (subject to limited exceptions), as announced in the Electronic Refunds Interim Final Rule published January 2nd, 2026 in the Federal Register (FR Document 2025-24171).
To prepare for February 6th, CBP strongly encourages the trade community to review CBP’s extensive resources (see below) related to the transition to all electronic refunds (subject to limited exceptions) and take any necessary action.
