Fuel Updates

Fuel is at $3.749 for the week, which is up from $3.739 the previous week.

As holiday and Q4 demand builds, carrier capacity is expected to tighten. Spot rates for September are tracking above August averages for reefer, van, and flatbed; however, the spot rates have remained steady over the past week. 

Reefer Freight:

• Spot rates remain unchanged from last week.
• Spot rates are sitting at $2.44.
• The load-to-truck ratio decreased 7%.
• Truck capacity in and out of major apple-producing areas, such as the Hudson Valley and upstate markets, will be tight through early November.

Van Freight:

• Spot rates remain unchanged from last week.
• Spot rates are sitting at $2.05.
• The load-to-truck ratio decreased .8%.

Flatbed Freight:

• Spot rates remain unchanged from last week.
• Spot rates are sitting at $2.51.
• The load-to-truck ratio increased 8%.
