Fuel Updates
Fuel is at $3.451 for the week, which is down from $3.487 the previous week.
Capacity has returned to the spot market. May spot rates trended above April averages; however, produce volumes are still below last year’s numbers.
Reefer Freight:
- The current national spot rate average is $2.29.
- Load-to-truck ratio dropped 2.8%.
- Spot rates dropped 3.4%.
- Last week saw a 13% drop in reefer load posts.
- Reefer equipment posts also declined, falling by 15% week-over-week.
Van Freight:
- The current national spot average is $2.03. It was $1.92 in the middle of May.
- Load-to-truck ratio dropped 0.8%.
- Spot rates dropped 3.3%.
- Dry van load post volumes saw their second consecutive weekly decline, dropping by 14%.
- Dry van equipment posts also decreased by 17%.
Flatbed Freight:
- The current national spot average is $2.61.
- Load-to-truck ratio dropped 11%.
- Spot rates increased 2.3%.
