Fuel Updates
Fuel is at $3.471 for the week, which is up from $3.451 the previous week.
Capacity loosened at the end of May and continued into June. Reefer rates have been falling at a time when they would normally rise, as produce season remains unusually quiet on the spot market. Freight volumes have rebounded a bit over the last few weeks. Tender rejections are high in Iowa, Nevada, and Georgia.
Reefer Freight:
- The current national spot-rate average increased to $2.33.
- Load-to-truck ratio dropped 4.8%.
- Capacity is tight in the northern half of the US, from California to Georgia, at 12+ loads for every truck.
National average for reefer:

Van Freight:
- The current national spot-rate average is $2.02.
- Load-to-truck ratio dropped 10%.
- Capacity is tight from Texas to the Carolinas at 5+ trucks for every load.
National average for van:

Flatbed Freight:
- The current national spot-rate average is $2.58.
- Load-to-truck ratio dropped 10%.
- Capacity is tight (except for in Utah, Colorado Montana, North Dakota, Nebraska, Minnesota, Illinois, and Wisconsin) with 18 loads to every truck.
