Fuel Updates

Fuel is at $3.800 for the week, which is down from $3.805 the previous week.

Load-to-truck ratios increased as July came to an end. Rates were not impacted enough due to capacity still being available.

Reefer Freight:

• The current national spot average is $2.31 per mile.
• Load-to-truck ratio is up nearly 18%.
• Spot rates saw a slight decrease of 1.5%.
• Carrier attrition is likely to resume if rates continue to soften in Q3.

Van Freight:

• The current national spot average is $2.01 per mile.
• Load-to-truck ratio is up nearly 13%.
• Spot rates saw a slight decrease of 1%.
• Rates will likely continue to soften a bit in Q3 and increase in Q4.

Flatbed Freight:

• The current national spot average is $2.50 per mile.
• Load-to-truck ratio is up nearly 11%.
• Spot rates saw a slight decrease of .5%.
• Residential construction continues to cool, impacting building materials.
