Fuel Updates

Fuel is at $3.713 for the week, which is down from $3.754 the previous week.

The truckload spot market saw renewed strength last week. Spot rates are slightly above mid-August trends. Capacity is expected to continue tightening as we head toward Labor Day.

Reefer Freight:

• The current national spot average increased to $2.38 per mile.
• The load-to-truck ratio is up 12%.

Van Freight:

• The current national spot average increased to $2.03 per mile.
• The load-to-truck ratio is up 6%.

Flatbed Freight:

• The current national spot average decreased to $2.50 per mile.
• The load-to-truck ratio is up 1%.
