Fuel Updates

Fuel is at $3.639 for the week, which is up from $3.592 last week.

Reefer Freight:

• The load-to-truck ratio has increased 20% week-over-week.
• Spot rates have increased .5%.
• We will continue to see an increase in spot rates for temperature-controlled freight with produce moving more in spring and summer.

National average for reefer:

Van Freight:

• The load-to-truck ratio has increased 8.6% week-over-week.
• Spot rates have increased .5%.
• With vans being parked in exchange for reefer trailers, we could start to see a pivot in the spot rates.

National average for van:

Flatbed Freight:

• The load-to-truck ratio has decreased 6.2%.
• Spot quotes have decreased 1.5%.
• With warmer weather approaching, we may see capacity return in northern areas.
• The return of capacity could mean lower spot rates in the northern areas.
• Due to the capacity moving north, we could see higher spot rates in the southern areas.
• Due to frost laws, over-dimensional freight will be impacted.
