Fuel Updates
Fuel is at $3.534 for the week, which is down from $3.579 the previous week.
Spot-load and spot-truck posts are both down week over week. A fuel dip might offer a slight relief for flatbeds and reefers who have been feeling the pressure of rates.
Freight volumes remain subdued, and likely will continue to slow with tariff uncertainty. Meanwhile, truckload levels are still behind last year’s pace.
Reefer Freight:
- The load-to-truck ratio increased over 10%.
- Reefer spot rates remain stable.
- Texas and Mississippi are still seeing the largest impact when it comes to load-to-truck capacity.
National average for reefer:

Van Freight:
- Load-to-truck ratio increased 5%.
- Volume is likely to slip as we see less pulling forward due to tariffs.
- Texas and the entire Southeast region are still seeing capacity issues due to produce.
National average for van:

Flatbed Freight:
- Load-to-truck ratio decreased by 10%.
- Construction material demand is still strong in the Midwest.
